I seriously love your writing. I’m laughing, crying and smiling in one post! I miss that legend of a grandpa of yours too! Thank you for sharing this with all of us. 🙏🏻😢

For real, Heather... that means the world to me.. Just getting started on this crazy ride, and it'll be a roller coaster. I truly appreciate you taking the time to read the work :)

I can surly tell the Lord gave you a special gift. And it’s even better you’re sharing it with others. Maybe it’s the sentimental Storm in me or the nostalgia.......I feel like I can relate to you in your leaving, travels and longing to be back in the place that raised us. 😭🙏🏻🙌🏻

Love this! I don’t remember going to the Island as a child, but often have memories of the boat trip to Pictured Rocks that I took with your family one summer :)

When I was at lower harbor in Marquette this summer I thought of that trip, staying in the marina and walking downtown Marquette 💗 we were so lucky to be with Gram and Papa on that trip, playing cards and totally unaware of how truly incredible the Pictured Rocks lakeshore is 🫶
